Sadly, there is no discussion of the relationship between real Edam and Mini-Babybel cheese.

It's one of those things I've always lazily half-wondered about but never actually properly looked into.

Anyone care to put me out of my (probably very daft) misery?

Oh, and I'm with the anti-Marmite league, so the suggestion about dipping a perfectly good cheese in the stuff doesn't sit well with me, thanks...

Babybel is Bel Paese though, not Edam (I think) so they're not the same.
