11 Sept was a chaotic event, and sure it was shocking. And it made the world seem a more dangerous place, to be sure. But mad? Well not in my opinion, at least. So it goes.
On a side note, mention of the Mental Health Act should be accompanied by a note that this is just in the UK, rather than the whole of the West. The rules are different in the various states of the USA, for example. Difficulties also arise when the 'client' is in fact entirely sane, and the attempt to commit them is made to try and get advantages in divorce and custody battles.
