I experienced a new variant on this since writing the article - the coffee machine had an option where you could put your own cup - and it wouldn't recognise my plastic goblet - so I was jiggling the cup, trying to get it to work, when all of a sudden it whirred into life, seizing my cup in the coffee dispenser thing that moved across, crushing it flat and pouring my coffee all over the chewed up remains!

The ingenuity they put into separating me from my gack, it's frightening...

I had to laugh, but that is rather shocking - you must have been totally stunned when your poor innocent cup was crushed by the evil gack machine...
