A Conversation for Commuting by Bicycle in the UK

Admittedly I don't cycle to my current workplace (when I'm not at University) as it's a bit too far for me to seriously consider at the moment (although I might try it in the summer, but Mum doesn't seem to like the idea and she can drop me off on her way to work anyway which is better than me driving by myself!) but I do cycle to my lectures during term time, and to various other places. Also, I have cycled to work in the past, and so much of what you've said is true! Cycling to work does give you a most incredible feeling of smugness, fitness and general superiority over the motorists stuck in their smelly metal things. Winter cycling also got easier for me recently - got a nice bright halogen front lamp with rechargeable batteries, and an insanely bright rear LED light. The joys of having a Dad who cycled to work for decades and gets input on one's Christmas presents...
