yeah, yeah, I know he's important in the book, I just found him smug and unlikeable. Since most "movies of the book" have to cut SOMETHING, I was glad he was the one who got the chop in this case.

yea, something had to go... But he was a pretty cool guy in the book, and i was looking forward to seeing who they would cast in his position... besides, i wanted to see Goldberry...

Who else had places in the film where they thought- wow, that is exactly how I imagined it?? In Moria, where the goblins attacked them, it was exactly how I had imagined it, albeit with a few extra pillars.

hmmm... i did when Gandalf faught the Balrog... and again in the final scenes... the seige of.. whatsit...

Yeah. Except my fight happened in a smaller area. But then, any dark place must look fairly similar, I suppose.

The book is great and the movie is really good as well. I thought they should have included Tom Bombadil - the aspect about the Ring not being all powerful is good, but i agree with an earlier comment about that he annoyed someone a lot- he annoyed me by the way he spoke in rhymes. I am quite new to hg2g so hi every1 :D and i cant wait for the 2nd film!!

Well, the rest of my family isn't quite so obsessed with Gollum (or any of the other characters) so there'll be people home that night. My house'll be fine

And possibly the whole of my halls might not have gone to see it too (though why not is beyond me...)
