Roll-up smokers may also be familiar with the late-night retread of filters after supplies have been exhausted. Often a roach made out of cardboard suffices, but more health-conscious smokers (and aren't we all?), or those with only 'dust' left, may scour their ashtrays for filters in semi-reasonable condition to be re-used in the next roll-up. I'm currently on my second retread of a filter, and it hasn't done me any harm.
