Actually, speaking in a strict physics sense, it's not work, because everything that's lifted comes back down still weighing the same (unless you sweat extremely on every lift) - so in the complete cycle, the mass is back at the energy level at which it started, and no actual "work" has been done smiley - geek

Step aerobics students have no practical way to harness the periodic gravitational energy they gain during a workout. Science *could* give them springboots or something, to let them keep this energy... but then it wouldn't be so much of a workout, would it. smiley - smiley
