When I was little, my dad fixed washing machines for a living and always smelt vaguely of WD40. He could complete any DIY task using a can of the stuff and a couple of cable ties.
Nowadays whenever I smell it I am instantly transported back to my childhood, so another use is nostalgia induction!

If you can't get a fire to light, spray some WD40 on the kindling.
