The BBC reported today that scientists have shown that new love causes a flush of nerve growth factor protein production. Maybe there is a link between protein rich diets (steak) and sexual appetite (Casanova style)!
However, new love nerve growth (tingly palms and rapid, hot breathing) appears to last only for a year and from then on in, it's about getting along as human beings in the normal boring way. Or, of course, one can abandon the tosser and find new love (again...). The study excluded people over 31 - presumably because the whole "meet people to experience the Briget Jones new love feelings" seems a bit shallow once you are in middle age
