I'm not really here

I had to have four teeth out under a local when I was 12 to be fitted with a brace. When they say it doesn't hurt they lie. I felt it all.

But at least it's all over for you know. smiley - smileysmiley - cheerup

Both my lower jaw wisdom teeth were growing at right angles into my other teeth. They said they could only do one at a time, under local, and wanted me to book in for the other one. But, I said bugger off! Cause its not hurting yet! I'll wait until I have too, cause I'd also have to decide whether to have local or general again. However having read some of the stories people have posted, I may well go for general. Thing is I'm really scared of them, are you?

No, I always demand generals as I've got a severe phobia of needles. Id rather be asleep than see someone come towards me with a needle. smiley - yikes I can just about manage to let them put the catheter in my hand, but anything else makes me want to die.

I tend to find that its men who usually have the fear of needles, I always say its cause we are used to little pricks! I actually enjoy injections in the arm, and I love the sensation when you give blood! But injections in the mouth are just nasty. I asked the nurse to numb the area first with anaesthetic gel so I wouldn't feel the injections so bad, she didn't. Then cause of having 3 lots of syringes I went into a big fearful rash and panic. The nurse was a silly cow, I think!

So in your experience, you recommend generals? I shall take heart from that!

I think it's because of my asthma. I was perfectly ok before, then so many times I'd have to have blood taken in the middle of a huge asthma attack, when it takes them about 6 goes to find the vein, then they have to dig deep to find the blood. smiley - sadface ouch.
