Hypnotising chicken is an old Australian art? 
I spend a year there... never heard of it. Ahh well, you hear new stuff every day. The Universe is big!

Yes, definitely Australian. I heard of this being done by kids at a country convent school - in order to annoy the teaching Sisters (who also nutrured the chooks). Their technique was to "draw" the line in the sandy soil ... seemed to work as well as the chalk method!

Yes indeed, my Dad is Aus, and he grew up on a farm out there. He would often describe the fun he would have hypnotizing chooks, as well as exploding seagulls.
