I know it's stupid. But kids up to 6 years old love it, especially if you eat the candy with a really outrageous look on your face. Of course, they also enjoy sharing this 'magic trick' with their friends.
This trick requires at least one piece of candy for you, and one for the kid.

Also works great in the pub:
"Watch in awe as I levitate this full glass of beer to my mouth using only one hand, one hand only ladies and gentlemen! But that is not all, for you will surely stand in astonishment as I now proceed to make all the contents disappear... glug, glug, glug..."

you mentioned kids with your trick, but kids never grow up do they... they just move to pubs eventually
