Your margarita will taste even more heavenly if you use fresh lime juice you've squeezed yourself, as opposed to the bottled stuff. You might want to add just a pinch of confectioner's sugar, though, as it isn't as sweet.
I often use Cointreau in place of the Triple Sec- it has a higher alcohol content, packs a little more punch (yay!), and has less impurities. You're a lot less likely to wake up in the morning feeling like your head is on inside-out.
Sometimes, for a little variety, I throw in a shot of Chambord or Midori, or a splash of Presidente brandy. This is especially good if you prefer your margarita on-the-rocks. It's scrumptious, and quite refreshing on a balmy summer's day!
