A Conversation for The Palace Nightclub, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

The Palace closed several years ago. It was recently bought by a developer in hopes of turning it into a Calgary Flames-themed bar to capitalize on the popularity of the hockey team. The early loss of the Flames in the 06 Stanley Cup playoffs seems to have quieted the plans somewhat.

The Palace Theatre will be open again for the 2006 - 07 hockey season Calgary Flames home opener in October. Renovations are underway and everything looks really exciting. It is going to have a restaurant component as well as a theatre portion. Not a nightclub AT ALL. You'll be albe to see any game of any sport at any time! Tons of TV's and tons of stations!

The Concorde Group has this location and is partnered up with the Calgary Flames in its venture. An unbelievable 180 from the nightclub it once was.

Palace was the biggest joke in Calgary

Slow bartenders, skanks left right and center (regulars there that were guys, that was the only place they had a chance of getting a woman...though a very fat one) bouncers were a bunch of moronic slobs that wouldn't stand a chance against a squirrel. Bartenders were pathetic. Don't think there was anything good about that place. Only the most pathetic of desperate losers ever occupied that place on a regular basis, and judging by it, can't blame them since most looked like desperate virgins (see above) whose only chance was paying a hooker 500 bucks. Staight out garbage club. Hope it never comes back
