There is an abandoned town on the mediterranean island of Cyprus, I cannot recall its name, but you can find it on Google Earth if you know where to look.
It is situated in the 'no-mans land' between the Greek and Cypriot borders on the northern coast.
Apparently it was vacated as part of the hostilies there and no-one is permitted to enter.
There may be others too.
