Just popping in to drop off some fireworks smiley - biggrinsmiley - rocket

I ordered good weather for the fireworks display on the beach tonight, but..... dunno...... looks as if my omnipotence on the weather front might need a bit of adjusting. smiley - sadface We'll enjoy these together, so keep 'em dry, in case the sky falls on my side of the pond.
smiley - smooch and with a twitch of my tail....

Those knickers aren't so entropic are they? Coming this way next?
smiley - biggrinsmiley - biggrin

And ooh! I love smiley - rocket lots of them. Our West coast is getting some awful thundery wet weather at the moment but my coast is dry and very sunny (at least it was today)

I'll keep the smiley - rocket dry for when you land.

But I love smiley - smooch even more!

Here in Florida clothing is decorative rather than functional most of the year. Of course, we aren't allowed to walk around nekkid smiley - yikes and I wouldn't want to risk burning my tender bits. But knickers--strictly optional. smiley - smiley

Guess I was born in the wrong quarter of the globe - we don't get much snow now but I can remember 3 - 4 feet of snow in the winter! All the girls I knew wore knickers (and 'big knickers' as in 'Bridget Jones Diary'} smiley - bluesmiley - sadface
The patch of bare legs between stocking tops and knickers was known as 'The giggle belt' because once you got there you were laughing!!!!
smiley - biggrinsmiley - biggrin Happy days!
Have you seen the film Bridget Jones Diary? or read the book? Light reading but very funny!

I haven't seen or read Bridget Jones... went to look for it the other day, and then I couldn't remember her name. HUMPH!

Sorry I've been neglecting you here.... it's not intentional. smiley - hug When I'm involved in a lot of conversations, the replies get burried in my page and I don't always see them or remember to respond. LOL I'm not always MoG on h2g2 so I might look at what's going on in that space but then forget to come back and reply. smiley - smooch

What have you been up to lately? Anything new and exciting?

Oh ! you got more than one identity ? - I'll settle for MOG and wait for you to come back to me smiley - smooch I see you dropped the reference to the knickers in your title in favour of lurking omnipresently - too hot were you?

I've been paint stripping on my back door today - and when I'm finished that I guess I'll have some time watching paint drying - isn't life full of excitement? smiley - biggrinsmiley - biggrin Can't complain though - after 17 days in Canada!

Last week my wife sprained her ankle severly restricting our outings but at least the weather has perked up enough for short-sleeved shirts and meals in the back garden (Back yard in American?) smiley - biggrin

The most exciting thing this week has been your smiley - hug and smiley - smooch

Oh ! and I got a phone call from a client who has some work for me to do for a builder. I'll let you know how it goes.

Things got pretty hot in here for a while... got involved in a bruhaha and a debate in which onsite lurking nettiquette played a role, so I decided to slip into something a little more... revealing... so's not to take anyone by surprise. smiley - winkeye

We call the 'garden' the yard here. On this side of the pond, a garden is someplace where you grow vegetables or flowers, and the rest is the yard. I HOPE you're keeping your wife well supplied with smiley - tea and lemonade, and that she has a hammock to read in while she recuperates in the garden.

I went for a swim after work this evening--it unkinks my back-- and the moon was extraordinary. Between the water, a couple of smiley - bubblys, and the other things that've been on my mind lately, I made a poem, of sorts. Don't know that I've ever done anything like that before, but it was kinda fun. It's my latest journal entry, if you want to take a peek at the tropical moon.

What kind of work are you thinking of doing? And what color are you going to paint your door? smiley - laugh Watching paint drying sounds awfully relaxing to me, right now. smiley - zen

smiley - smooch I'm off to bed now... going to Miami tomorrow, and that's always an adventure.

ciao

"Something more revealing" sounds very sexy to me - closes eyes smiley - wowsmiley - tongueout opens eyes again quickly. You could take me by surprise any time smiley - winkeye Tell me are you brunette, blonde or redhead?

You were still in the pool there, basking in the moonlight - loved your poem - you are one very talented young lady ! smiley - smooch

What work do you do that kinks your back? Do have much back trouble?
Yoga is very good for the spine.

Yes I keep my wife well supplied with smiley - tea she doesn't drink fizzy drinks so no lemonade - but pain killers and warm water are always on tap at the slightest request.

I'll be painting the door white as it was to start with - but lots of interesting colours coming off in layers.

I'm a Civil Engineer and shall be doing road, car park and drainage design for some factory buildings.

Must go now - enjoy Miami. smiley - kisssmiley - kiss

My hair is dark auburn, with a little help from L'Oreal. smiley - winkeye I like cosmetic stuff... it's fun to be able to create different looks for different moods. Love costumes, divine shoes and unusual accessories, too. smiley - laugh I get more wear out of my feather boa than some drag queens I know. Fortunately, I'm one of those people who can pull that sort of thing off and appear merely harmlessly eccentric, rather than outright bizarre when I chose to do so. It's all just decorating.

I manage the CHANEL counter at a local department store. Makeup, fragrances, skincare... it's an easy job, and pays the bills. Leaves me plenty of energy to use MY time on the things I want to, and I LOVE doing makeovers and helping people create the kind of look they want. The worst part of it is the boredom, when there aren't many customers. I've been working on learning some computer graphics stuff lately. Would like to be able to cut back to 20 hours weekly in the store and be resident makeup artist, which would just pay the bills, and do freelance work with my puter to pay for the fun stuff. Hopefully, next year sometime I'll be able to start that. I'm not brave enough to put my financial stability at risk right now... need to learn some more things.

Time for me to go to work now....

smiley - wow make-overs? can you do one on me to get me from 75 to about 50-ish? I love Auburn hair - my grandchildren are auburn/ginger haired. Good that you have the confidence to dress the way you want to, and to hell with the comments.

I went to look at the body shop the other day but mine is too old to do much with smiley - winkeye so I'm stuck with my yoga smiley - biggrin

When I was still in full time work I started doing freelance work evenings and week-ends. When I got the chance of early retirement I had the foundation for a private practice. 6 months after retiring I landed the biggest job I had ever done in my life.

Keep the dream love, nurture it and work towards it - one day it will become a reality if you really want it !

Have a great trip! Tell me about it when you return, ok?

I read Bridget Jones on your recommendation. It kept me amused for a while... thanks! I'm sooooooooo glad my life isn't like that these days. So much worrying about men and calories. *phew* Takes too much effort for my taste. smiley - smiley

Hi love - I'm back after a very wet and windy 3 weeks. We had about 4 fine days and the last week was really wild - we even had a roof leak in the caravan which I have fixed today.
I'll tell you more about it next time.
Meantime can I express my sorrow to you and your country for the horror of the attack on your world trade centre and the apalling loss of life. My sympathies are with you. The whole of my country is with you in this moment of trial.

Glad you enjoyed Bridget Jones - the is a follow up called Bridget Jones the edge of reason if you wish to read it too.

Must go as it's late.

love

What a world, huh? I've been awfully confused these last few days, torn between my inherent pacifist/ semi buddhist beliefs and the idea that further violence is probably the only hope we have to resolve this terrorist mess once and (hopefully) for all.

I guess right now I'm thinking that there is a chance that some good might come out of this. For the first time, really, people all over the world can actually exchange ideas with others... with regular people... we can touch each other's lives in a way that hasn't been possible before. We can have friends who we'll never see. And we care about them. That matters, a lot. And I think it'll change things. I think it'll become more difficult for people to hate others based on superficial differences.

I'm sure there's going to be a war. I have very mixed feelings about that. Still can't come up with any cohesive stand on the subject, though I've been trying to write it down here on h2g2 for days. I type stuff, and then I read it and it doesn't make sense, so I delete and post nothing. Maybe one of these days I'll find the words to say what I mean.

Tell me about your trip. It sounds like it was quite an adventure. smiley - smiley I'm off to bed now with the windows open. The night is coolish by my standards (75F) and it's finally not raining. We had a tropical depression and it rained for days. The wind broke my tomato plant, which was a sad moment, as I finally had my first lil green baby tomato appear on it the day before it broke. I finally figured out that my garden likes a LOT of water.
