In nineteen-eighty something we saw one performing in the circus tent with the Shanghai acrobats. It was the star turn in a group of domestic cats!! but it was billed as a lesser Panda. It did an adorable tight rope walk and summersaults. The Giant panda was a separate act who rode a tricycle. Presumably the Chinese knew what to feed them on as they both lasted at least ten years in the ring,
with apologies for the un-PC memory.

There is an adult and two youngsters in Dublin zoo.
The adult sleeps all day and the two youngsters gambol around taking care not to wake her up
