I love rice cakes and use an organic & salt-free variety.
My favourite topping is either mashed banana (sometimes with peanut butter) or a low salt yeast extract with tahini and a slice of tofu.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the idea of removing one thing after another to make a supposed better food stuff.
Its like the decaffinated, sugar free Coke - aka, brown water with added gas.

Ah, but I have a bad reaction to salt and suffer from fluid retention... (It's not a pretty sight! LOL)
Cutting out salt was difficult to start with but I can't stand the stuff now and never put it on my food. Even eating bread or a ready-made meal can cause an adverse reaction.
