A Conversation for China - The Cultural Revolution

Why is Mao Tse Tung still revered after his abject failures??

Chairman Mao was in my opinion a disaster for China. The Cultural Revolution saw millions of innocent people die and suffer the most humiliating denouncing in front of the people where they lived.A common
punnishment [ie a light easy one]was to have to walk around where you lived with a horses saddle placed on your back, and made to make braying noises like a Mule. Also you hands were tied behind your back rendering you defenceless against a punch or a piece of wood in the mouth as to knock all the victims Teeth out.The victim had to carry a card around his/her neck upon which the supposed crimes were written, mostly being a
counter revolutionary,a claim which was impossible to refute.Student denounced Teachers/Headmasters anybody in fact who had once been held in
high regard. The most tragic outcome was this little idea of the peasants
champion was simply thrown off when he had tired of it.The national Steel making idea which was another idea of the great man,was another unmittigated disaster.Steel which was produced was of such poor quality
it was useless, none of the Peasants had a clue about the ratio of lime
and Air needed for such a undertaking. Then there was the great natural disasters which occured like the Earthquake of 1976 and the Yellow and Yangtse river floods which killed milions and destroyed farmland with such alacrity.Mao was a moron it's a shame he didn't go the same way as Pol Pot who Mao backed to the hilt. Then this fools reputation would have been laid bear for all China men to read his tragic delusions.Even today his ghost still stalks the corridors of power [or should that read
corruption??]Google have set up a Internet link up with China a limited
one whereby they can't even read thery own history. All references to Tiannmen Square are outlawed such is progress.smiley - biggrin
