Use nail polish remover on that annoying adhesive left behind by removed tape.

Nail polish remover is usually IPA (iso-propyl alcohol) which, it seems to me, has the ability to get anything off of anything.
Unfortunately it often gets more anythings off of the anything than you actually wanted.
If, instead of buying nail polish remover, you go to your ironmonger or pharmacy and buy a bottle of IPA, you will find it approximately 100 times cheaper by volume.

Although IPA will take off almost anything, nail polish remover is mostly Acetone. Just be very carefull with it since I have know it to disolve plastic.

You can get it in an aerosol can, which is very convenient. I use it to clean all sorts of things, including monitor screens

I don't think they'll sell IPA in aerosol cans in the US. It's too amusingly flamable...

It's in hairspray...which is why hairspray works on ink (IPA is cheaper, though)
