A Conversation for British Summer Time
Lighter Evenings

Think how nice it would be if we had BST in winter. No getting dark at 3:30pm anymore. ....and then double summertime. I'd rather have longer evenings than it getting light at 4 in the morning!

When you look at the excellent graphics on this BBC webpage about time: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-12849630 you can see how we should really be on the same zone as most of Europe rather than Iceland. By being locked to GMT we have earlier sunrises and sunsets than the average, hence we miss out on light evenings.

I have to be in bed by 10pm so lighter evenings are useless. Also where is Greenwich?

Greenwich is in London.
We had a discussion about British Summertime not long ago on here. Although most seemed to want longer evenings, quite a few were concerned that having darker mornings put more people at risk from road accidents, especially kids on their way to school.
