The Acrostic Poem has been a long-standing challenge, mainly between B'Elana and PedanticBarSteward. However, we've decided to open up the idea to anyone who would like to take part, as a regular poetry challenge.

The word chosen each time is the Telegram Game's current word, so if you join in or subscribe to the telegram game you'll know as soon as it's announced. When you've completed your poem, submit it by posting to a new thread below, and we'll put the best of them together in the next issue.

CUT and catatonic in an alcoholic trance,
Alzheimers leads my memory an incoherent dance,
Blindly as I fumble for my things around the room,
Battling with the feeling of a close impending doom,
Angry with the fact that everything goes bad,
Getting ever more confused and infinitely sad,
Everything seem hopeless, frightening, grim and cold,
So maybe I should just accept that I'm getting old.

'Can I be your Valentine?'

'Bugger off, I won't be thine...
Because you are a lout!'


'Aww, that's not fair' poor Cauli said,


'Geez, you are high and mighty.
Excuse me if I leave your bed.
Sleep tight and dream of Blighty.'

Crucifers are mighty healthy dining, so they say,
All of us eat veggies 'cause we want to stay that way.
BUT some of 'em are hard to take, we'd rather have 'em steamed,
Broccoli is better cheesed, and cauliflower creamed.
A cabbage cooking on the stove makes an unpleasant smell,
Greens stick to teeth, cooked radishes will burn your mouth, as well.
E vitamins are good, but rutabaga's hard to spell.
