A Conversation for Low Brass Instruments

What a beautiful sound

Post 1

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I played French horn in the school band, but I always wanted to play euphonium. It has the sweetest sound by a country mile of all the brass instruments, IMHO. Because we were a military band, I get all nostalgic when I hear a Sousa march (this was around the time Monty Python was first being broadcast, and yes, we played The Liberty Bell smiley - smiley), The RAF March Past, or The Dambusters. We played some Vaughan Williams too, and Holst's St. Paul's Suite - that's the one where there's two different time signatures going at the same time! The two sections of the band usually managed to finish within a couple of bars of each other smiley - silly.
