A Conversation for Low Brass Instruments
What a beautiful sound
There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Started conversation Nov 17, 2000
I played French horn in the school band, but I always wanted to play euphonium. It has the sweetest sound by a country mile of all the brass instruments, IMHO. Because we were a military band, I get all nostalgic when I hear a Sousa march (this was around the time Monty Python was first being broadcast, and yes, we played The Liberty Bell ), The RAF March Past, or The Dambusters. We played some Vaughan Williams too, and Holst's St. Paul's Suite - that's the one where there's two different time signatures going at the same time! The two sections of the band usually managed to finish within a couple of bars of each other .
