This is a very informative and entertaining article, thanks very much! I just would like to know more about pond *plants*, from algae on upwards, because after all the plants are the 'stuff' at the base of the food chain upon which all the other thingies you mention depend! You mention the pondweed and algae but surely there are many other kinds of aquatic plants worth mentioning too! I ask, because I'm very interested in plants but have a very poor knowledge of aquatic species.
