Because Aynn Rand is generally considered to be the founder of the American Libertarian movement, and because the owner of Wikipedia happens to be of this political persuasion, no criticism of Aynn Rand or her political philosophies are allowed there.
She was collecting social security when she died, and required surgery for lung cancer (from smoking 2 packs of cigarettes per day). If objectivism and an aversion to collectivism were her life philosophy, she led a very hypocritical life, philosophically speaking. She was no female version of John Gaunt by any stretch of imagination.
