Major Composers of the Baroque Period
Corelli, Albinoni and Arne are very nice composers!
But major or best recalled today? Hardly?
To highlight a few Baroque composers is to put the many into shadow. However a list of only a dozen of the major composers might include:
Monteverdi (1567 - 1643)
Schütz (1585 - 1672)
Lully (1632 - 1687)
Buxtehude (c1637 - 1707)
Charpentier (c1645 - 1704)
Purcell (1659 - 1695)
Vivaldi (1678 - 1741)
Telemann (1681 - 1767)
Rameau (1683 - 1764)
Scarlatti D (1685 - 1757)
JS Bach (1685 - 1750)
Handel (1685 - 1759)

Arne may not be the most commonly-remembered Baroque composer, but Albinoni and Corelli were very influencial, and left quite a body of work.
Other composers of note are Blow (1649-1708), Geminiani (1687-1762), Biber (1644-1704) and Scheidt (1587-1653).
