Vestboy

Thanks for bringing back memories. I'll probably use your story as it sounds like it's guaranteed to work.
I've been trying to think of the others I know. I do remember the one about the man who married the one legged rich woman whose false leg was made of gold. He didn't love her but he wanted the gold.
He kills her, hides the leg under the bed and buries her body in the basement.
In the night he hears the sound of a one legged person moving round downstairs.
He furtively goes to check but finds nothing - twice
The third time he stays in bed cowering with his head under his pillow.
Then the door handle rattles and the door creaks open.
In hobbles the ghost of the one legged wife. She approaches the bed.
"What do you want?"
Silence
"What do you want?"
Silence
"What do you want?"
"MY LEG!"

Vestboy - I'm glad it brought back memories for you. The one you just outlined has all the essential ingredients too for a guaranteed jump.

Lil - yes this was fast. In fact, seeing it so suddenly startled me smiley - yikes

While reading it? Not really. I'm sure I would have jumped in the situation you describe, though. smiley - smiley
