So - if the extras were used 17 times each, will this affect their remuneration?
Generally I thought the film was awful, but it did make me wonder who else could have played the role of Maximus. Russell Crowe is a pretty fine actor, and is able to be both hard and muscly as well as well spoken and intelligent. Could any other current male actor worldwide have played this role? How male actors of the past?
I think that Oliver Reed could have given the role a shove in his day, as could Richard Burton and Marlon Brando. But who today?
