A Conversation for Secrets of Longevity

Lots of people in my family with long life spans, so the subject's always interested me.
But the information I have is from reading interviews about people who live to be over a hundred.
Many of them drink - one dose - of some very strong drink - like rum or cognac... either at night, before going to sleep, or just as they wake up.
As I've read this in at least four interviews... think there must be something to it.
One well-known brazilian economist said he never drank water - only wine, and he lived to be over a hundred. [This is not a wine advertisement!] -
On the other hand: - my yoga teachers told me the first thing you should do in the morning is to drink a glass of water... and that way, live longer - they might be right.
