Fresher Fish Eaten Faster!

Post 104

Wait just one cotton-pickin' minute here! It was YOUR idea, or rather your brother's idea, to stick them in a tank so they're readily available to eat. Don't go rousting me just because you passed on a good idea about storing them until they're eaten! I wouldn't get upset if I passed on a good way for catching and eating people and YOU commented on it, so why are you bashing on me? It was YOU that mentioned how YOUR brother holds them in tanks til he's ready to eat them, but I'm the one being criticized here for it. Don't go pointing the finger at me for the black-sheep in your family. I simply applaud your brothers efforts to ensure people get fresher fish for eating faster.

Foolish Fish Fall For Hooks

Post 105

By the by, if you're a fish and DON'T want to get eaten, then I suggest you wise up and avoid worms on shiny hooks. If you're stupid enough to think that worms that live in the ground, occasionally throw on bathing caps and go swimming on hooks in the water, then you deserve to be caught and eaten!

WELL!!! That is a funny thought... "Hey, George[Worm one]... let's go for a swim on these painful, shiny hooks!!!!"

"Great idea, Frank[Worm two]"

But you overlook those poor fishes who are netted, and their even bigger cousins who get harpooned... smiley - sadface

I never said my dear brother's intention was to eat or harm the fish in anyway. You presupposed it, dear... he LOVES fish-- fish to look at and honor...

Yes, but those that get caught in nets and the even bigger one's that get harpooned are just as foolish and deserving of their fates. Is there any reason, on the face of the Earth, that would explain why anyone would want to go near a good-sized boat and it's large, sharp, violently-thrashing, propellers voluntarily?

Let's think about that a moment, shall we?

Hmmmm...

Hummmm...

Ermmmmm...

Let's see now...

NOPE! There is NO viable reason for anyone to voluntarily get within 100 yards of a good-sized boat and it's large, sharp, violently-thrashing, propellers. Ergo, those that get netted and/or harpooned, get that way because they are suicidal and/or just plain stupid, therefor they are deserving of their fates. We are cleaning out the gene-pool for you fishes and weeding out the slow, stupid and those that don't listen to their Mum's and Da's advice about large, sharp, violently-thrashing, propellers. You should thank us, not condemn us!

::Sigh:: Valid points, all... But I am still yet to be satisfied. How does all your reasoning defend this disgusting, graphic article about gutting a fish!??

Is there any viable reason why anyone in a a good-sized boat with it's large, sharp, violently-thrashing, propellers should be after fish. Besides, it's not voluntary. Fishing trawlers are designed to trawl - that is, to catch EVERYTHING in a certain area, not just fish that are curious about the boat. SONAR exists for fishing boats to CHASE the fish. So it is NOT about silly fish being caught by approaching a boat, it is about BOATS maliciously and with malice aforethought chasing and specifically going after fish that are hjust trying to stay near their home in their own part of the ocean.

1) My points defend this article by simple reasoning. Once one has caught any number of fish (Too stupid to stay away from the bright shiny hooks with worms and nets with brightly colored bobbers clearly outlining their forms.), one must have something to do with them. How to gut a fish is one thing someone can do with a fish they've caught. Another is to take it to a taxidermist and have it mounted on a peice of wood for display, so I'm backing this article and others like it (As should you). Otherwise, people will have huge piles of fish and without this knowledge they'll just sit there in their huge piles and rot. At least this way they go to some use.

2) Regarding sonar and chasing fish, this just tells the people in the boat where the fish are, it's NOT like the fish don't know where the boat is. I mean all you have to do is...listen for the loudly-thrashing propeller (which you have to be deaf not to hear) or look for the HUGE dark shape above (which you have to be blind not to see). It's simply faster than having a guy spend most of his time with his head in the water and having to look for fish with his own eyes, also it's awfully hard to drive a boat that way. Lastly you must admit that those nets do have large brightly colored bobbers marking their circumfrence and one could easily avoid them by swimming above, below or even around them. Once again, those that don't are simply stupid and we're just doing you the favor of cleaning out the gene pool.

(If this doesn't make sense to everyone yet, perhaps you should seek out the nearest fishing net and/or shiny hook with a worm casually swimming on it and we'll explain it that way...) smiley - winkeye

Ha. Do fish HAVE ears!?? How can they possibly hear thrashing propellors without ears!??

And I WILL NEVER support this article or others like it!!! smiley - tongueout

You must admit that humans go to a _great deal_ of trouble just to catch fish... and they know very well what they want to do with them once done torturing them into suffocation. The stupid fish-g*tting article is NOT necessary; it more of a threat than a useful reference. I refrain from mentioning the blasphemy of it all...

I am writing to my congressman!!!!

The Entry doesn't encourage anyone to do anything, it is just a discription on how to clean a fish. On another note I didn't think fish had ears per se, but rather a lateral line of cells sensitive to vibration all down there bodies. Remember people,a fish isn't just a pet, it is brain food as well, plenty of those essential oils smiley - smiley Mmmmmm, esssential oils smiley - smiley

That is true, however I have never been hungary enough to eat a cat (yet), as I have always managed to get by catching fish, and so have not gutted one, when I do, I will be sure to write an Entry on it smiley - smiley I would imagine it would be similar to this one. Maybe after a few you could get a short cut, like slice just under the skin, from the slice along the belly, and force it up (still under the skin) to the backbone. Then do simialr to the other side. If everything goes well you should be able to get a good hold on the loosened skin, and jusst give a steady pull. Everything being well the whole of the skin should just rip off in one easy move. But maybe not smiley - smiley Until later....

Its even easier than that, all you need to do is make a slit and pull, and the skin just slides off because of a fatty layer between the fur and the flesh.... erm... or so i'm told...
