Another way of recognising a naturist it when people show you their holiday photos and you realise that there is an odd number in the pack (all the nude ones having been taken out).

Also people who mentuion they are going to 'the club' but never actually mention what type of club it is.

I found out my in-laws were naturists when I was chatting to the step mother in law in their bedroom and spied a photo frame. Oh is this from when you wnet on holiday? I said , picking it up. I put it down again when I realise that they were both naked in the photos and have tried to wipe my memory of the sight but still get very disturbed dreams!

We always take the hint and disappear for the weekend when they mention their friends are coming over because you just know that means a nude party, with lots of drunk people jumping in and out of the jacuzzi.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against naturism and we never discuss it with them because we reapect their privacy. It's just that sometimes it is really hard to look at them in the same light!

Ever tried just talking to them about it?

We have now - they got married last year and thought they could have their friends from the club and their family along for an almighty p*** up and nothing would get said - how wrong they were! It is now all out in the open so to speak - and we can take the mick as much as we would like.

Why not ask them if you can join them one evening?

Because we choose to keep our clothes on - no intended criticism of them - it is just our personal choice!
