Out Of The Silent Planet

I've gotr a friend who's really into Megadeth. I don't like 'em myself - there seemed to be no structure to the songs on Peace Sells But Who's Buying?, and the last album. I saw no appeal in it, nothing good. Just what seemed like heavily-improvised guitar. Nothing special there
I'm doing my own spot of checking out bands. I'm hoping to buy Deep Purple: Machine Head (cos I need to see why Purple command respect, Rush: Chronicles (ditto) and Black Sabbath: Born Again (to see what they were like with Ian Gillan). I suppose Led Zeppelin 1 should also be considered.
If I'm going to recommend stuff to you, it'd be:
Iron Maiden - essential. Buy the self-titled debut if you want hard metal with tinges of punk. The Number Of The Beast for classic Maiden with a solid kick. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son for pure classic Maiden - melodic and powerful, whilst not losing all to noise. The X Factor for something more gothic, and the new album Brave New World for something a bit more mature sounding.
Bathory are kings of black metal. If you only buy one album, make it the self-titled debut () or the In Conspiracy With Satan tribute.
Derek & The Dominoes album Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs, starring Eric Clapton, supplies me with my favourite blues rock, and I would recomnmend it to anyone.
Slayer thrash like f**k. Reign In Blood for thrash/black metal sounds, or Seasons In The Abyss if you want it slowed down an inch
Anything else? AC/DC: Back In Black. Dead cool.

That's very good for you. I managed to bluff my way through the day - the maths is, however, a no-hoper but I should be able to sort something out for English.
It might be a bit harder for you, with all that. Good luck from me...
Mmmm, I wanna talk about music again...
No not maths again! Goddamit!

Grunger Buay - what was the animal? *bluergh*
And, my school year...well seeing as I'm not American and proud of it (bet that came as a shock to you - there are other countries outside da USA!) I don't got to 'high' school. I's in Year 10 and am finding it quite alright thank you
Hey, today I am going to see Iron Maiden! TODAY!!! Methinks the setlist will be more or less the same as the London gig back in JUne, so I'll be ready for each song this time
And I got a standing ticket. Which means if we get our skates on, we'll be down at the front. Whopang!!!!!
