Ohh..there's an old one I remember: Tubthumping, by ChumbaWumba...
"I get knocked down, but I get up again, ain't nobody gonna keep me down..."
Repeat that a couple more times..

That whole song is like that - lyrics like:
"He drinks a whisky drink, he drinks a cider drink,
he drinks a vodka drink, he drinks a lager drink
sings the songs that remind him of the good times,
sings the songs that remind him of the better times"
That said, it is by far the least annoying Chumbabloodywumba song in recent history. For truly Vogon-poetry topping ghastliness, try any song from their earlier "pictures of starving children sell records" album.

When Rudolf Hess died in Spandau Castle, my husband's (then) boss made the comment, 'I do think they ought to demolish Spandau Ballet now'. We all drank to that!

It's Christmas, time of supposedly-sophisticated perfume adverts coming at you ad nauseum. There's one that seems to use the theme tune from "Futurama" with its distinctive chimes (why was I not surprised to see it runs in EVERY ad break during "The Simpsons" - association of ideas?) and this sticks in your head.
But the all time worst seems to be absent this Christmas - thank the Baby Jesus for small miracles. One perfume advert uses a truly earwigging song by a French band, performed in broken English with frequent whistles and bells; (Stereo Lab "I love you - oh no") and this truly eats into your brain. Worst: a comic duo featuring the clueless Daisy from "Not Going Out" and her mate who was the snarky Polish au pair in Jack Dee's sitcom... the name "Katy Wix" comes to mind here - gleefully picked the tune up and used it as theme music to THEIR sketch show. Applied sadism or what...
