statements, yes... provocative in a much more 'in yer face' way than 'political'.
Especially in the public eye. Compare the Pistols famous run in with Bill Wossname!
Burning the Pascal (500Franc note)! His version of Aux Armes etc.
Whitney!!!
And even (well, especially!) when he was younger. His whole early appeal was that of an arrogant but compelling intellectual rebel with an incisive Riche Gauche verve and self-depracating* Gallic charm.
But never reforming, no. Oh no! He was by no means a reformed character himself!
