Keep The Cats Out

You can try to keep cats out by:
*having your own cat, who will then hopefully see all your garden as his territory, and will hopefully drive others away
*not feeding the birds, the neighbourhood cats will then be less inclined to come to your garden to try to catch them
*not having any catnip whatsoever, because all the neigbourhood cats will come to your garden to get high.
I don't know if these work, but they are the opposite of the reasons that cats do come to our garden.

We've tried cutting off a couple of yard-long lengths of green re-inforced hosepipe, which one then kinks twice and puts on the areas where you don't want cats to go. The idea is that the hosepipe looks like a snake and the cats give it a wide berth, as do the birds. Failing that, I'd suggest getting a REAL snake
