Everything's kosher, except if you're a Yankee fan. They tent to think that they're gods in baseball fandom. The rest of the world think that they are jerks. The strange thing is that they relish this fact. They probably are offended that you didn't mention things like "monuments in center field", or "Daryll Strawberry" or the winner of the World Series is the best team.

Yankees fans are not crude you jerk. Nor are they obnoxious you insolent filthy animal. Nor are they arrogant, you fan of a team who couldn't possibly beat the Yankees if they were given double the outs and were staked to a ten run lead.
Yankees fans graciously forgive slurs made against their names provided there is a full retraction and a signed confession.
Mentioning of monuments, by the way is optional, though it would only seem fair and honest to mention the World Series winners.
Unless of course you are an Atlanta Braves fan, in which case...
