Annoying Changes

Perhaps it's just because I'm annoying, and I like making my History teachers cringe, but whenever the CE/BCE dates are used I read them as "Of the Christian Era" and "Before the Christian Era."
I feel that all of Western History is dependant on the founding of Christianity, and that the calendar divised for Europe reflects this truth, whether individuals like it or not. People want to do business with nations and cultures that are Christian in their history and outlook even if they do not believe in Christ, and so they should have to cope with a Christian calendar. How would it be if Christians started dictating to other cultures how to handle their calendars? The Jews have a calendar they like, and far be it from us to secularise it for them.
