Although they stopped the 'Burry man' in Aberdeenshire, you can still see one today in Scotland.
They still have a Burry man every year in South Queensferry during the annual 'Ferry Fair' festival. He does indeed dress from head to toe in sticky weeds and walks from the town, but the residents have used the same poor man for several years.
The fishing in Queensferry has been partyicularly bad now since the industrial revolution. The heavy metals and the busy shipping in the Forth (the local Firth), has killed off all the fish near here.
Perhaps the residents need a larger man to stick more Burrs to...
