For those who have not had enough exposure to Australian beers (and I urge you all to get as much as possible, as quickly as possible), the ubiquitous VB is reckoned the most popular beer, outselling Fourex and Fosters. Easily recognised by its green colour along with its stablemate Melbourne Bitter (in a red can), they are simply known as a 'green man' or a 'red man', thus saving valuable drinking time.

Err, G'day Alec - mind if I call you Bruce, mate!

Unfortunately, my working day ends in about 15 mins - so I'll be logging off. Haven't been contacted by any of the Aces yet (I checked out the page on them), nice to see that newbies are looked after. Some of the spots I've visited can be downright unfriendly.

However, in honour of my joining this crew, I'll have a coldie (or two) tonite. Reminds me, is there a homebrew section anywhere?

So you're indeed an Australian smiley - biggrin
Did you know that we in Bavaria have more than 800 breweries?
The EU recently stated 'Bavarian Beer' as quality-trademark (the exact expression isn't trademark, but I don't know it in english).
It has a long tradition, 'cause Bavaria was very catholic, and in the lent when the people weren't aloud to eat they drank beer instead. So many monasteries brewed their own beer (and still do). Bavarian beer has also to be free of any artificial incredients.
What do you think - I'll send you a few bottles, and you in exchange send me a red and a green man? smiley - smiley
