I have to say when I visited Christcurch my budget didn't allow for restrant eating as I was backpacking. Fast food (the only kind of foos to go for when travelling according to Ford) was on the budget however. There is a nice Burger place that had just opened next door to the YHA. THE BEST burgers I have every tasted!!! As a bonus they were not expensive, and VERY big!
