A Conversation for How to Win at Chess

Just in case anyone's interested in any more short mates...

I mentioned this in the PR thread, and thought it would probably be nice to add on to the end of the entry when it was picked... it's a bit long for the entry itself I guess! smiley - smiley

Anyway, the nicest short mate I've ever seen runs like this:

1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 d6
3. Bc4 Nc6
4. Nc3 Bg4
5. Nxe5! smiley - huh

... which looks daft, but if black takes the queen then white wins:

5. ... Bxd1??
6. Bxf7+ Ke7
7. Nd5++

smiley - smileysmiley - ok

I used to play chess for my schools chessteam
but we had to disband because there was no teacher willing to supervise us,

chess notation gives me a slight headake, (slight being a blind lie)
but it's good to see people take an interest in the game,
