It's a fitting junction number for Worsley, it's also not surprising when they renumbered the M62/M63/M66 into the M60 that they kept Worsley as having that number and adjusted the rest accordingly.
As an aside, how I've never been killed whilst negotiating it on an almost daily basis I have no idea.

Have to agree. I hate this junction. It's bad enough when you're just trying to go straight on while on the M60. You feel that somebody's always drive into you. This must be why so many people sit in the outside lane for the 2 miles before the junction.
Try the junction during the lead up to Christmas with Trafford Centre shoppers and there's a footy match at Old Trafford. Nightmare!
