One of my most highly treasured items is a cassette single of Motown Junk signed by James Dean Manic after a gig at my Uni in 1992. It has to be said that the Manics are gods of rock'n'roll.

Indeed - but I still think my friend who has a pair of Nicky Wires plimsoles might beat that. Although I suppose a tape smells less

It raises that old debate - do you wash them (and risk losing that touch of magic) or leave them to disintegrate through bacterial action?
Nice to see a fresh face on h2g2, BTW. Very nice indeed to see someone who takes the time to fill in their home page straight away!
