Capoeira Sightings

Post 1

Steve K.

Interesting entry. The first time I saw the word "Capoeira" was several months back when I got a motion capture ("mocap") file for my 3D character animation. I applied it to a character, and wondered what it was supposed to be. There are LOTS of kung fu type mocap files, but this one looked more stylized. I finally realized I had seen this before, on the downtown streets of Houston during the Houston International Festival. In that case, two men were performing it, and while it looked like kung fu, they never made contact. A good thing, too, as they were pretty muscular.

I *think* that the group near us at the park portion of the Pennsylvania Dutch Meet was doing Capoeira (though for some reason, I didn't mention it in the write-up A846984 )
