I often say that the true proof of human intelligence is their invention of these three basic tools:
-Duct Tape (often called Gaffer Tape, because it is used by the Gaffers on the set of a film)
-Bungee Cords
-Milk Crates
With a combiation of the three, you can make just about aything, from a snare drum to a crude form of a car.
Now be weary, there are two sizes of milk crates (metric and imperial). Now they are both usefull for everything, except for one major difference. The imperial milk crates are slightly larger than the metric ones. They are also the perfect size to store Vinil Records (if you remember what those are). Metrics are a tad too small. But they all make great shelves (especially when held together with bungee chords and duct tape).

Gaffer's tape and duct while similar looking are very different.

You get a bullet hole in your plane: use duct tape

You plane gets completely blow to shreads: use gaffer tape

Heh, now that is why I carry a roll of gaffers tape with me; I find need for it quite often.
