I have always used the term "idiot stick" very carefully, much as the thing itself should be used. But in contrary fashion to the uses of the idiot stick described in this entry, the idiot stick has always been used by me as a tool for -- well, beating the hell out of idiots. I can take the form of any long, hard, preferably heavy object with which someone in the vicinity of a complete moron shall whack that imbecile either into silence or out of hearing range.

the term "Idiot Stick" is also used by musicians to refer to the the tremolo arm on an electric guitar especially when overused by a less than proficient lead guitarist.....

And another meaning for the Idiot-Stick...
As a teen-ager I had difficulty with puberty, and at work Iwould get
