Thanks for the memory.
We used to see the lion when taking the bus when we lived in northern Greece. It looked so modern, it was amazing to think it had been there for such a long time.
I always assumed the lion looked like that because it was a representation of an extinct species of North African lion, but that might just have been imagination on my part.
