"Well, perhaps it snows in australia.

I hope you do not mind, but we are already using the snow lantern as a weapon for a while. < F123979?thread=334423&latest=1 >

I tryed it while we where skiing. If there is sufficient snow, the only problem is to find a place where you actually can see the light."

Yeah, it is a pity that it didn't get through PR and editing and the whole process until now - I wrote the original entry in January while there was still snow...

Winter's just starting here... Even if it doesn't snow in Canberra this year, I should be able to get up to the mountains at least once. They're only about 90 minutes away. If I get there, I'll try this out!

The mountains are called the Snowy Mountains. British explorers had very little imagination, as a rule.

Oh - that's right - I didn't think about the researchers living in the southern hemisphere!smiley - smiley I really ought to remember, because Loonytunes always used to gloat about having a beer in the sunshine while us northerners groaned about masses of snow...smiley - biggrin

Actually, we've very early. Of course, the same principals might apply to sandballs on the beach, but this hasn't been tested. Perhaps someone near a sunny beach might like to test this for us? smiley - smiley

When we were approached on this, I had to give the non-committal reply, but you're right, they really do benefit the entry.

Now, about this sand lantern idea... smiley - smiley
