A Conversation for The Manchineel Tree

Bad linking

Post 1

The code for the link to BBC Gardening is showing, rather than the link itself.

Could someone correct it please?

Traveller in Time on his head "I doubt if they will, the BBC Gardening has been deliberately made readable. They used explicitly <LINK HREF="http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/">BBC Gardening</LINK> this can only be to show the links as it is, not to use the link as a link to BBC gardening. Probably while the BBC does not have any information about the tree. . . "

I don't know if there is an antidote and as far as I know there is no medicinal use for it as yet.

As for destroying the unwanted tree, you don't.
You could cut it down using relevant personal protective equipment (gloves, face mask etc.). But its often recommended to just leave them. As with all beach vegetation they do a good job of preventing beach erosion . . . and as will all trees, they are important for the environment . . . and its a food source that crabs can eat without competition.

So in lots of countries they just leave them and warn people about them.

That first link is still bothersome. Can't it just be 'de-link-ized'?

Today it goes to "Shopping for green products and environmental gifts". This kind of tree is hardly a good 'gift'
